More detail:
2025-10-29: Bella Star is a 4-yr old black female Lab at 79 lbs. She came to SCLRR from a local shelter where she was dumped by her owners for moving.

This gentle and super sweet girl is as best as it gets. She is PERFECT. She is an absolute pleasure to have around, completely non-destructive and VERY polite. She loves her walks, hikes but she isn't much into playing with other dogs. She is pretty low energy but happy to go out and explore 4-5 miles daily. She is great on leash and super wonderful and quiet in the car.

Bella Star will be your shadow at home - she just loves her humans and be part of the family. She would love to cuddle with her humans. She is housetrained and uses the doggy door. She would be great with anyone liking outdoor activities as she has good stamina and will not take off very far while off leash.

She would love to be adopted by a family that is not away from home for very long hours, as she loves having companionship. She also loves other dogs but we think she will also be fine being an only dog.

She was tested with a cat at the shelter but no other exposure. We think she would be fine with a very dog savvy cat. She loves kids and is gentle with them as well. She is very interested in the squirrels at the park.

When she first into SCLRR, she had skin allergies and an ear infection, she was itchy, and had missing patches of her hair. She tested positive for yeast infections. With a good diet, medicated baths and treatment of ears she feels a lot better now and is healing. Ideally her family will monitor her skin and ears and continue to give her medicated baths when she needs them. She is great in the shower.
