2024-05-06: Introducing Chewy Boy! Weighing in at 106 lbs, he is a sturdy and handsome, 5yr old neutered Dudley yellow that was turned in by his owner due to housing restrictions after bringing him across the country in a RV from Connecticut.

Chewy Boy is a happy-go-lucky gentle giant and just loves to be with his human; his personality is a real dream. His biggest joy in life comes from sitting at your side and getting pet on his head or his belly; he is so sweet and calming that he has potential to be a therapy dog. He has a playful spirit, but he is not overly high energy. He loves to play tug or catch and to stroll around the neighborhood to get his sniffs in, but mostly he is a lovebug who just wants to be by your side. He plays nicely with his very high energy foster sister, and they chase each other and play tug throughout the day.

Chewy Boy is house trained and non-destructive, and he knows most basic obedience commands and a few fun tricks (shake, spin, and 'bang bang'). Chewy Boy has a very soft mouth when taking treats, and he never jumps on humans. He rides perfectly in the car once you help him in, and usually just lies down calmly in the back seat. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys two 25-30 minute walks a day.

At home, Chewy Boy will lay down by your side if you are working; he is the perfect work from home companion. He enjoys cuddling on the couch while watching tv but will be just as content on his doggie bed or at your feet.

Chewy Boy just wants to be with his people and will want to be wherever you are. He wants to be part of the family and pleasing you is his purpose in life. If you are looking for a best friend and companion for lonely days working from home, walks around the neighborhood, a game catch and maybe a road trip or two, Chewy Boy is your man.

Chewy Boy has lost weight since being fostered, and his new owner should be ready to continue to work with him to continue on his weight loss journey for his future comfort.

Even though he's very gentle, he is a tall and heavy guy so he should probably not go to a home with very small children. He has not been cat tested and was reported to live with one when he lived on the East Coast, but he shows a strong interest in chasing birds and squirrels on walks, so any cat in his new home should be dog savvy.

Chewy Boy might have a low functioning spleen causing him to have low blood platelets. That will need to be monitored moving forward, but he does not need any intervention at this time and he is ready to go to his new home.

Chewy Boy is really the perfect, sweet guy and everyone who meets him just adores him! He can't wait to have a person of his own.
