More detail:
2024-02-18: Gracy is a 5 yr old yellow female Lab at 90 lbs. She came to SCLRR from a local shelter.

This gentle and super sweet girl is as best as it gets. She is PERFECT. She is an absolute pleasure to have around, completely non-destructive (except for some toys that might explode if playing with another dog). She loves her walks, hikes, and loves playing with other dogs. Yet, she settles down nicely and takes her beauty naps. She is great on leash and wonderful in the car. She is calm and mellow but will activate if playing with another dog. She likes to fetch but not obsessed with it. Her favorite game is tug-of-war with another dog. Gracy will be your shadow at home - she just loves her humans and be part of the family. She is what we call a Velcro dog. If you move, she moves. She is housetrained and uses the doggy door. She would be great with anyone liking outdoor activities as she has good stamina and will not take off very far while off leash. She would be good for someone retired but active too.

She would love to be adopted by a family that is not away from home for very long hours, as she loves having companionship. But she is fine being alone few hours as well. She loves other dogs but we think she will be fine being an only dog. She adjusts her activity level based on the other dog in the house. If she has a playful partner, she will play, play, play. If not, she will try at first, then mind her own business. She is not a barker at all, I never heard her bark once.

When she first came into SCLRR, she was quite sick with an upper respiratory infection. Then weeks later we noticed that a small growth on her belly was growing and growing. She had surgery with the best oncologist surgeon in OC and her tumor was removed with clear margins. She had a mammary duct carcinoma grade 2. The lymph node was negative which gives her a really good prognosis. Still, the oncologist surgeon advised to have her checked every 3 months just in case another mass re-appears for the first year.

If you are interested in Gracy, please contact your Family Rep!

Ideally we would like to find Gracy a family who is close or willing to drive every 3 months to Irvine, OC because her surgeon is here and would be the best to have her rechecked.

If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.
