More detail:
2023-09-29: Meet Pongo, a beautiful 1 year old yellow male lab. Pongo is a big boy at 78 lbs who loves people and belly rubs! We don't know much of his history, but he's house-broken and knows how to sit and shake for treats. He usually comes when called but may need a second call if he's doing something fun. He is a quick learner and figured out the doggie door on the first try. He is food motivated which will help with the continued training he needs to become the best boy possible. He walks fairly well on a leash but needs guidance not to cross back in forth in front of the walker. Sometimes can't stop himself from jumping up on people and counters when he's really excited. True to a young lab, he can be mouthy when excited so he needs positive redirection (any toy works).

Pongo wants to sit in your lap while you're driving the car, so while he's learning how to ride nicely he should be crated for trips. He sleeps well in his crate at night, but would be happy on a dog bed also.

Pongo is looking for an active family who likes to have fun. He's still young and has a lot of energy for playtime, and he loves toys and balls! He also likes to play in the water, especially the sprayer on the hose! We haven't seen any digging in the yard.

Pongo doesn't realize how big he is so he is probably best suited to be a best friend for older children and adults. He gets along with other dogs but his high-energy style may work best as a single pet in the home.

Pongo always has a big smile on his face, so if you're looking for a big bundle of happy he's your guy! He's neutered, fully vaccinated and healthy so he's ready to find his forever home. Please contact your family representative if you are interested in meeting Bongo Boy!
