2023-03-11:Hi! My name is Delilah Kay, I am a 7 yo female Lab. I weigh about 90 lbs. My sister Kate Kay and I lived with our owner until recently when she was no longer able to take care of us. I am a sweet, easy going, lovey girl. I am super healthy except for some extra pounds. I have already started getting my girlish figure back, but I still need some help getting to my healthy weight. I love to cuddle, nap and play a bit of ball. Chewing on my bone is fun, and I'm learning to play tug of war. I really like my human, but being with my sister is the next best thing. Foster Mom says I'm smart and easy to train, I can sit, wait, come, go up and down a ramp to get in and out of the car, and I can give the ball or toy back so that you can throw it for me again!I have been working with a trainer to learn how to walk on a leash, something I had never done until now. I am learning how to take cues from the human I am walking with. But if I am somewhere new, like the groomer or vet, then I try to pull a lot, and I am super strong! I can also get easily scared by new noises, but if you tell me that I'm OK, I calm right down, especially if you distract me with a treat. I like to play with my stuffy toys, and it takes weeks until I chew them up. I haven't chewed anything in the house that I'm not supposed to. I like everyone that I meet. I'm pretty indifferent to other dogs-just not interested. I have never met any cats, but I would probably ignore them. I'm pretty low energy, my ball playing doesn't last long, but I'm building up my endurance with walks. Kate and I have been together since we were born- so we insist on being adopted together. If you would like to make these easy, bonded tubs of love part of your family, please contact your family rep.
If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home. |
