2022-10-02: Hello, my name is Dexter Jay and I am a beautiful male yellow lab. I am going up for adoption with my brother, Jack Jay. We are littermates and are both 12 years old, and are considered a 'bonded pair,' meaning we will be adopted out together. This is our second time being with SCLRR, we lost our families two times already. SCLRR took us in both times (first in 2018, second in 2022), no questions asked, because we are such good boys. My foster mom tells me that I am a really good boy, with a great face, and loving heart. So far, since coming to our foster home, Jack and I have gotten to go out on walks and play in the yard with our foster brother and sister. Our foster mom says we are pretty good on a leash, and do not pull, but I like to stop a lot to smell all the plants and leave 'my mark.' We know how to sit, and know the words 'stay' and 'come'. Both Jack and I are very good with other dogs and humans and we have loved everyone we have come in contact with. We don't have any mobility issues. We are taking joint supplements and an anti-inflammatory. Even though I am quite overweight (working on that), I am able to walk around just fine. SCLRR took us to the vet recently and we had blood work done, a dental cleaning, and updated our vaccines. We have several lumps around our bodies but they are what is called fatty lumps. The vet said it is fine to stay where they are. We are gentle and loving and we would be a wonderful dogs for someone. My preference would be for me and my brother to go to a loving family where we get to go on a walk every day. It would also be nice if our new owner stayed home for part of the day, because we love being around people so much. If you are considering adopting two well-behaved, fun-loving, and easy-going Labrador Retrievers, please consider adopting Jack and I.
If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home. |
