Jumbo had a tough year or more before coming to us. He was homeless and was moved often always living outside. He was bone thin and malnourished and had some bad skin rashes and ear infections and just needed some TLC.

Luckily he came across SCLRR and even though he was in bad shape, we knew that with some nourishment, love, and attention that nothing could keep this wonderful boy and his cheerful spirit from making a full recovery.

Jumbo is the absolute gentle giant and gentleman. He is a tall lab with a regal stance. He's got all the lab qualities that make for an outstanding family dog. He loves people and will follow you from room to room, flopping down and traces you with those warm eyes and expressive eyebrows. Don't let his age fool you, we guess he's 8 but based on his teeth and energy it wouldn't surprise me if he was younger. He can play ball and retrieve for hours and loves to swim, but knows to settle down once inside the house. He is great on the leash and corrects very well both with a gentle tug or verbal commands, but just don't let a squirrel cross your path. When he sees a squirrel he is reminded his sole purpose in life is to catch them all! He'll bark and jump, but otherwise he just wants to have fun.

He is a wonderful guard dog, quick to notify with a deep bark if anyone is at the door, but will stop immediately on command. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but don't tell anyone! He tries to pretend to be tough to protect his family. He's great with other dogs, and even with his size is great with kids as well. Just like most labs, Jumbo has a voracious appetite, but who can blame the guy? After all he did starve for nearly a year!

Don't let this goofy guy fool you into thinking he's not bright. Jumbo can sit, lay down and even speak on command! Of course a little motivation in a form of a treat is always appreciated.

Open up your hearts and open up your home, cuz this big guy has an even bigger heart and he's ready for a family to love forever.
