2025-08-23:Meet Charley Barley - Your Golden-Eyed Goofball!Charley Barley is an 8-month-old Labrador mix with the most striking golden-yellow eyes and a tail that curls at the end like a little question mark. At about 55 lbs, he's a big softie who doesn't realize he's not a lap dog-he loves to cuddle and will happily lean in for love. This sweet boy is friendly with kids and other dogs, and while we're not sure how he feels about cats yet, he has such a gentle heart that we think he'd adapt well. He doesn't bark much, but he gives the cutest little nose 'boops' and may hop up in excitement when he sees you-he's still a puppy learning his manners! Charley Barley walks wonderfully on a leash and is a dream passenger in the car... although he might try to sneak into the front seat if you're not looking! He'll need to stay on a leash or be in a secure yard when outside, as he sometimes thinks 'come here' means 'let's play tag!' He's potty trained and knows how to use a dog door, but with any new environment, he may initially try to mark his territory-both inside and outside. With a watchful eye and gentle corrections, he catches on quickly. He's eager to please and learns fast! Charley Barley absolutely loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, though it's not a requirement if his new family can spend quality time with him. He does experience a little separation anxiety and may cry or howl for a few moments when left alone, but having another pup around makes it much easier. Thankfully, he's not destructive-just a bit dramatic at first! Smart, affectionate, and full of playful charm, Charley Barley is looking for a family that will continue his training, shower him with love, and maybe offer a spot on the couch for some serious snuggle time. If you're searching for a goofy, cuddly, golden-eyed buddy to brighten your days, Charley Barley just might be your guy!
