2025-01-06: Hi! My name is Davie and I'm about 2 years old. I have been told I am a beautiful yellow Dudley boy and am a fit 73 lbs! My foster mom says I have the most amazing, expressive eyes that look at you with love and gentleness. SCLRR found me on the highway in the desert. I kept running up to cars desperate for help. I think I was what they call a yard dog and didn't get to be in the house or be a pet, so I am glad they rescued me.My foster parents taught me to sit and am learning other commands and to use the dog door. I am mostly house trained and am crate trained. I am a medium energy dog and I love my walks and to play fetch! I also like playing with my foster sister! Tug of war is one of my favorite games! If my foster sister wants the toy I am playing with, I release. I'm a good boy with my toys or my food and I take treats gently. My foster parents say I'm adorable and loving. I enjoy being petted and will raise my paw for more, but sometimes I flinch when you reach down. I don't want to talk about it, but my foster mom thinks someone may have hurt me. That being said, it takes me a minute to warm up to people. I might bark because I'm afraid, but will settle down once we all relax. I am a Velcro dog and I will follow you around the house. I love to meet people and get lots of pets. I sleep in a crate in my foster parent's room along with my foster sister. I sleep through the night until my foster sister says it is time to get up! Otherwise, I would wait until everyone else gets up. I am excited to start the day and am very happy. I walk well on leash if I have a prong collar, but I do zig zag a little. If I see dogs, I would love to meet them and their owners, so sometimes I get a little excited. If I see a squirrel, I perk my ears up and wonder what that critter is! I love chewing on bones and playing ball! I will chew up the ball and stuffed toys, but have never chewed my foster parents clothing or shoes. Since I love attention, I occasionally jump up, but correct easily. I am looking for an active family with someone home most of the time. I think older, dog savvy kids would be fun, but please remember I still jump up occasionally and if I am startled, I do flinch. With your patience, I am sure I will learn that people can be kind. I would love another dog to play with and teach me how wonderful it is to be a member of the family, but I think I would be okay being an only dog as well. If you think I might be your forever dog, please contact your family rep.
