More detail:

2022-09-23: My name is Lucy R and I am about 9 months old and about 50 lbs. My life was not always great. See, I was abandoned in the desert by some not nice people. I had to live on my own for a while. It was really scary out there. The nice people at SCLRR took me in and since then I have been learning how to be a proper pup. My foster Mom says I must have lived in a house before because I know to do my business outside, but I don’t remember. I am still afraid of noises & new people. I am not mean at all I just cower away.

I really want to find a family that will be patient with me, that will expose me to things to show me it’s OK to be there. I already learned a lot in my foster home. I know I can continue to learn to bond & love people again. There is this teenager in my foster home and I love her already. When she goes to school I stay in her room, though I am sad, I just wait. I am not destructive – I just wait. My foster family has left me alone in the house (with other dogs) and I just wait like a good girl. I don’t chew anything.

I am learning to play. I like this game called fetch I can go get it if you throw it but I like to keep it. I have never had toys before, but I like them and would like some in my new home. I also don’t want to be in a crate! I did not like that at all! I know when it’s time to go out to potty. You don’t have to put me in a crate. I like walks, we go every day here. I am learning about this leash thing. I watch the other dogs and try to copy them but honestly sometimes things distract me. You know what doesn’t distract or bother me at all? Cats! There are two where I am staying now, they seem pretty cool & we share space no problem. So, if you have some of those fur babies no problem! My foster family also thinks another dog would be good so I can continue to learn from them.

My foster Family wants me to find a forever home soon so I can start that bonding process, get properly trained & have a long happy life & put my past behind me. I will try my best if you are patient & loving.

Will you want to give me a chance?
