More detail:
2020-09-05: Meet Sallie Mae! She is a 5-year-old black American field lab weighing 61 lbs. Her previous owner turned her into SCLRR to find a home that could give her everything she needs.

Sallie is super athletic and needs her exercise. Once she had her exercise she will settle down nicely and take her beauty naps. She walks well on a leash (I walk her using a gentle-lead). She LOVES to run and fetch balls, she could do this for hours! She is great indoors and can be left alone without causing mischief, but she probably would not do well being left alone frequently for long periods. Sallie Mae is non-destructive, house trained and she loves taking rides in the car.

We believe she would do best in a home where she is the only dog just so she can get all the attention to herself. She is good with other dogs but not interested at all in playing with them at all. She is a little afraid of cats.

Although she is a little shy at first with people and other animals, she warms up quickly. Sallie sits on command and is working on the down command. She is doing really well learning not to lick and jump. She is fairly easy to train as she wants to please and she is very smart. Oh and I can't forget - this girl loves to cuddle!

She takes treats very gently and will do a great sit and down for treats.

Sallie Mae loves to play at the ocean but is afraid of the pool. She is afraid to get in the pool but she fell couple of times and definitely knows how to swim.

If you are interested in adopting Sallie Mae, please contact your family representative. Her ideal family would be someone that is not away from home for long periods of time and is active.

If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.
