More detail:
2020-02-10: My name is Bella Mae, I'm 9 years old and 88 pounds. If I do say so myself I'm a very beautiful milk chocolate color! Everyone that meets me tells me what a sweet personality I have and that I am as beautiful on the inside as I am on the outside. See, I am just an overall happy and extremely loving girl. Whoever comes my way I feel like I should do a little love therapy and show them how great it is to be loved by me.

Let's give you now a bit of history about me. I have started my journey this year with a pretty rough time. See, I lived with my family for 9 years and they moved and decided not to take me with them. I was given to another family member who really didn't like dogs and kept me outside only which I really didn't like. Luckily they decided to give me a better life and contacted SCLRR to help me find a great forever home!

Unfortunately when I arrived in SCLRR, I had a large lump on my left side of my shoulder and another smaller one on the right side. SCLRR took me to a very nice lady doctor and she removed all the growths. I was so brave and a very good girl. We were very scared for a while because they thought it might be cancer but the biopsy report showed that is not cancer, yay. Turns out I have a condition called Panniculitis which is usually visible as a lump, but it is actually inflammation of the subcutaneous fatty tissue. Surgical removal offers a complete cure on the moment but we were told that these lumps can return back anytime. The nice doctor that operated on me told us that if the lumps are starting to return I will need to start on these 2 medications - Prednisone and Cyclosporine. The cost for these meds is about $50-$75/month.

Since coming into SCLRR I also had blood work done (all looks good) and a dental cleaning.

I love living inside with my family and I am so respectful of the home and well behaved that there is no reason for me to be outside. Except of course when we go for potty breaks. My foster moms says I'm really good left alone and never have any accidents. I LOVE to be around my people and LOVE to go for walks. I'm really good on the leash. I'm great around all other dogs. I'm still trying to get used to my foster brother cat, but I might be OK with a really dog savvy cat. I really just want to play with him but I think my presence scares him.

I just want to be loved and I promise I will return the love 1000 times. I'm very sweet and faithful! Are you going to give me a second chance? Please contact your Family Rep. if you want to meet me.
