Ways To Support SCLRR!

There is no act of kindness you can do or gift you can give that is too small for SCLRR!! It is all of our efforts combined that allow SCLRR to be successful for so many dogs.

We are a 100% volunteer run 501c3 tax exempt organization, so all donations to us are deductible from your taxes. You can choose from a variety of ways to support us, listed below:

Donate directly to support SCLRR in different areas

  1. General donations will be used for costs incurred to run the rescue including shelter fees, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, boarding costs, equipment for events, volunteer training, canine behavior modification, etc.

  2. The Polly Fund was established to help with non-routine medical costs. For example, in 2008 SCLRR funded the following vet care: patella and cruciate surgeries, lumpectomies, dental work, blood work, x-rays and emergency treatments. As you can imagine, veterinary costs are the largest part of our budget.

  3. Our Senior Lab Rescue Program Fund ensures that dogs 7 years and older are well taken care of. We have set aside specific funds to make sure that there is enough money at all times to take care of necessary surgeries, boarding and other services that our seniors often require. Our senior dogs often need more medical support upon entry into SCLRR than the younger dogs.

Here are some great ideas that also can help SCLRR

  1. Host a party (Birthday, holiday, etc.) and ask for donations in lieu of gifts
  2. Hold a fundraiser to raise the items asked above. Children love to fundraise and it is a great way to get them involved in charity. We would be happy to help in any way!
  3. Do you have services such as printing, transporting, retail sales that you think might benefit the group? Please contact us, we would love to speak with you!
  4. Do you want to host a Lab fundraiser at your place of business? We would love to talk with you!
  5. If you have the ability to do wood working, arts or crafts, you could make items that we could sell or raffle off at our dog events. For example, can you build a dog house, or make a quilt? This is an excellent way for SCLRR to generate funds.
  6. Check and see if your company offers an employee donation and/or matching program. This is a fantastic way to often times double your contributions to SCLRR. If you require any documentation at all for this, please contact us.
  7. Would you be willing to host a bake sale or a pie raffle for SCLRR? We could even do this sale in coordination with another dog event.
  8. Do you have relationships with companies that are looking for organizations to support? Maybe you could put in a good word for SCLRR!
  9. Do you have photography skills that you might donate? SCLRR would love to host a dog photography event during the holidays and raise money by selling pictures.
  10. Do you have a skill that we could auction off such as fishing, hiking, crafting, cooking, or other activity that we could raffle off?
  11. Do you get regular tickets to events such as baseball games or amusement parks that might be a great raffle item?
  12. Do you have connections to the entertainment industry, radio or broadcasting to help get the word out about SCLRR and the great things that happen in the group?
  13. Do you know of any grants or award that SCLRR might be able to apply for?
If you have ideas, please don't hesitate to contact SCLRR. We love creative ideas! Please remember that there are no paid volunteers in SCLRR, so you know that the monies are supporting the dogs 100%!
