More detail:
2016-08-29: Helloooo, everyone! My name is KitKat. I am a petite yellow female lab, around 3 years old, and I weigh about 60 pounds. Before I came to rescue I was used for breeding and was dumped outside a vets office. Thankfully they were super nice and found me a place with SCLRR. But boy was I neglected! When the SCLRR volunteer met me, I was missing 75% of my hair! Take a look at my photos it was one unending bad hair day for a LONG time. Can you imagine what a nightmare that was for a beautiful girl like me? Overtime with love and TLC I was able to overcome the bacterial and yeast infections, untreated allergies, and poor nutrition and am now back to my gorgeous self. I have been in foster care with SCLRR for 4 months now because I had to have 2 medicated baths a week, many medications and lots of love and TLC. My hair has grown back on 95% of my body, but there are a few patches that may never grow back. I don't mind because what's there is a gorgeous, soft yellow color that all the girls envy. Since I have been with my foster family I learned to trust again and to be carefree. I was very, very scared in the beginning but I learned very fast what the good life is and I''m not letting it go now!

I am a very happy go lucky kind of girl and my foster mommy says that I am extremely sweet. I will always greet you with my tail wagging and a toy in my mouth. I will '"talk"' to you if I want something or if you were out of the house for a long time just to tell you that I missed you soooo much. That is the type of girl I am. My favorite thing in the whole world is to cuddle with my family. I will not say no to belly rubs either. My foster mommy says that I am truly loving and affectionate and I REALLY love my people. I am what they call a "'velcro"' dog because I like to follow my foster mom everywhere in the house.

I would prefer to go to an active family that will exercise me regularly. I love going out for walks or hikes. I looove to play fetch and my new favorite thing is to go swimming. I have good leash manners. Once I''ve had my exercise for the day, I will settle really well in the house. A girl always needs her beauty naps.

I am friendly with kids but I should probably be adopted by a family with kids over 8 years old because let''s face I jump when I get excited! I''m just that happy and I can''t contain myself! We are working to correct that and I am getting better every day.

My foster mommy says that I am extremely smart and learning quickly. I am food motivated so I would do anything you ask me to for a treat. I already know few obedience commands: sit, down, out, and I go to my place when I am told to. I am also a doggie door expert. I am crate trained but no need for a crate as I am completely trustworthy and non-destructive in the house. I sleep in my foster mom's bedroom, on a dog bed next to her bed. When she leaves from home I have the full run of the house and I am very well behaved.

Ideally I would like to be adopted by a family that is home most of the day so I would have some company. I just love people so much!!!

I live here in my foster home with 2 other dogs and I am fine with them. Still, I would prefer to be an only dog just so I can have ALL the attention to myself. If I go to a family with another dog, it would have to be one that doesn''t care about toys as much as I do. I am quite a toy hog and I like stealing the toys from my foster brother or sister. They let me do it because I am so cute.

My foster mom says that she and I have never met a cat while we have been living together so she thinks it may be a good idea if I do not live in a house with cats.

This is my story so if you are interested in giving me an awesome forever home, please contact your family rep. ASAP. You won''t be sorry. In return I will fill your life with more love and adoration than you can possibly imagine.

I learned how to swim and I LOVE it, I want to spend ALL day in the pool.
