More detail:
2016-04-24: Meet Harley D! He is a lovable and easy going 9 year-old yellow Lab with the sweetest white face. Harley is completely housebroken (and has not had any accidents). He sleeps in the kid's rooms at night. He only wants to be where his people are. He will hang out on his dog bed in the family room, or follow us around the house. He is trained to sit, down, come, and wait. He is very loyal and stays right by your side without a leash outside or at the front door. Harley is very smart, and extremely sweet. He doesn't try to get people food, and does not beg for food while we are eating. Harley stays at a distance and lies down while we are having meals. He does not jump up on people (but he does jump in the air when excited), lick, or counter-surf. Harley is great with young children; he is gentle and sweet with them. Harley like affection and belly rubs. He will greet you at the door when you return home with a shoe in his mouth (no damage to the shoe), he does not chew shoes or other things. He is a total sweet-heart!

Harley's owner surrendered him to SCLRR, because he traveled extensively. Harley was spending more time in doggie day care than with his owner. The previous owner had Harley since he was a puppy. He wanted Harley to have a better life. I could tell Harley missed his owner when he arrived in foster care. He was very sad and anxious at first, but he has warmed up to our family very well. Harley is a little fearful/anxious, possibly because of the trauma of moving or maybe its' his personality. He remains nervous on walks. He is cautious and stays close with tail down. He does not like loud sudden noises, or unfamiliar places. We have been exposing him to lots of different situations; school pick up of the kids, a parade, sports practices, walking by a car wash, and trash trucks. He has made improvement and just needs encouragement and confidence. He greets other dogs, but does not pull to them or get excited about them (same with cats). He greets unknown people with gentleness and caution (tail and head down). He is extremely loyal and likes to be with all his people.

Harley is a low energy dog. He would do well with a family who is home a lot. His favorite thing to do is ride in the car. He likes short walks. He does not swim or play fetch. Harley adores kids, and is good with other dogs and cats.

Harley is an easy dog.
