More detail:
2015-03-23: My name is Colby3. I am about 10 years old and I weight 78 lbs. It was a 'hard-knock life' for me until SCLRR came to my rescue at a local shelter. My rescuers say that whoever dumped me at the shelter did me a HUGE favor. I was totally neglected and in very poor condition because of lack of care. I had a very dirty dry coat, broken calluses on my elbows, yeast infections on my skin, pressure points and sores on my behind, and hair loss in a few places. In addition I also had a large benign growth that needed to be removed. I was also a bit stiff but now that I started my medication for arthritis I am feeling much better. I am still healing, so you will need to be patient with me when I get tired after a long walk. I promise all the efforts you put into my rehabilitation will be worth your while. I will be your best friend forever.

I truly feel like I am a new guy now. I have been given a complete makeover since I came into SCLRR. I have had blood tests, several medicated baths, dental cleaning, and lump removal, etc. My foster mom says that I am a big handsome, young man who is finally enjoying his life. My fur is now shiny and soft, thanks to the care of my foster family.

Now that I am healthy I am ready to find my own family to love and would love to live happily ever after with them. I am very respectful of your home. I am extremely low maintenance. I am completely trustworthy in the house; I do not have bad habits like chewing, stealing things, and I do not go to the bathroom in the house. I get along with everyone, other dogs and children. It is because I looove everyone!!! I love riding in a car and going for walks and chasing a ball and sniffing the grass. All these experiences were missing from my life for a long time, so I appreciate them now, more than ever.

I also need to confess my forever family will have to understand that I am a dog who needs to live a quiet, slow life. I have a little trouble catching my breath, so my walks need to be rather short and done in the cool of the morning/evening. Because of this I also sleep alot and love just hanging in the house with my foster family. I love tummy rubs and I am a sweetheart that will put a smile on your face every day. So, If you are a person/family who needs a cute, loyal friend who likes to spend quiet nights watching TV with you, I'm your guy. Please come meet me if you think you have room in your life and your heart for a big, happy dog. I am looking forward to finding my forever family. My foster mom thinks I will make a wonderful addition to a family who will spoil and love me. In return, I promise you I will spend every day showing you how grateful and appreciative I am.
