2014-08-06: Hello Families!!! My name is Slick aka Icy and I am a very sweet, four year old, 57 pound, black Lab.

SCLRR saved me from a local shelter and I feel so happy now that my foster mom says I do the happy dance all around the house! Actually because I was so happy and wiggly, I got something called 'happy tail' so I needed to have my tail amputated. But no worries, I can still wiggle even though I have a bunny tail now!!!

I think there was something in the air here that made me really itchy at times. My doctor thinks that it is environmental - It's been pretty dry this year in SoCal. I don't worry about that because the meds are helping me and I am as happy as I can be.

At my foster house I live with three other dogs that are very nice, but I am not exactly into playing with other dogs. I am also good with cats and I love kids all ages. My favorite thing is to follow my humans around. I am very affectionate and I love to curl up next to my people. At night I am sleeping quietly on my dog bed in my foster parents bedroom.

My foster mom says I am a VERY good boy. I do not destroy things like some other dogs but I still have some of the bouncy playful energy that most young Labs have. My foster mom says I am a medium energy dog so an active family would be great for me. I love going out for walks because I like to explore. I have great leash skills.

I am well behaved in the house and when nobody is home I have full run of the house and yard. I never ever go potty in the house; I heard that is a big NO-NO so I learned that very quickly how to use the doggie door. I know sit and stay and I will do anything for a treat. Feeding time is my favorite time of the day. I do the happy dance when my foster mom prepares the food for me.

I am really looking forward to my forever home so if you think I sound like your type of guy contact your family rep right away. My foster mom is great at giving me lots of love, but the more I hear about these 'forever families' the more I think I should probably get one of my own.

Have a Wonderful Day, families. I can't wait to meet you!

Here I am with whatever is left of my tail. See, I am still very handsome.
