2013-04-28: Hi my name is Orson--I am an 8 year old cute, darling boy and I am looking for my forever home. You see, my former family took me to the shelter and said they didn't want me anymore. My foster mom and another wonderful SCLRR volunteer saw me at the shelter when they came to pick up another lab. Luckily for me they came back and my foster mom took me home. I didn't even know what a cookie was, my fur was all sunburned--I wasn't allowed inside before. I now know what a cookie is and my fur is getting pretty and shiny and I am now an inside dog. :) The shelter suspected I might have a kidney problem. So SCLRR gave my foster mom permission to take me for tests and more tests. They told me I have PLN (protein losing nephropathy), which means I have abnormal levels of protein in my urine. I am eating a special kibble dog food, and taking one prescription medication-my foster mom told me it is only around $7.00 a month. I also take fish oil, 1/4 of an aspirin, and an over the counter pill for my joints. I don't have any money so I would really appreciate if my new family is willing to pay for them. I will give you ALL of my love in exchange. Testing shows that my numbers are lower, which means the special food and medication I am taking are helping me. It is recommended I be tested approx every 6 months to make sure my meds are still working correctly. I know I feel so much better. Now for the fun, good stuff--as I said my name is Orson, I am a good boy on leash and LOVE my daily walks. As you can see from the pictures I live with 4 labs and 2 kitties. I get along with all of them just fine...I am good with children, am house broken, LOVE being with my foster mom and dad and am always close by. At night I sleep on a doggie bed near my foster family. I take treats gently, do a 'happy dance' when I know it is time to eat. I am good in the car, go up and down the stairs at my foster home. I also love chew bones and have one close by most of the time. My foster mom says I would be great in any home--I am calm and respectful of your items, don't get on furniture and did I mention I love to be near my family... I just want to be loved and I promise I will love you back. If you think I am the boy for you and you have an approved home check let your family rep know right away. Respectfully, Orson P.S. I also LOVE belly rubs! a href='http://s211.photobucket.com/user/gia2008_photos/media/2013_0427orsons_grass0013_zpsc6720951.jpg.html' target='_blank'> If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home. |
