This document provides for the release of liability of the Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. (SCLRR) organization and its volunteers due to the actions of the Labrador Retriever or Lab Mix (dog):

I, the Foster Home named above, understand that SCLRR and its volunteers, have no way of guaranteeing the actions or disposition of this dog, described above, placed into Foster Care with me. I understand that every effort has been made to assess the disposition of dogs released to SCLRR beforehand but, being living animals, they may act unpredictably in any given situation and that I must take necessary precautions to prevent accidents and guard against unpredicted actions by this dog I foster. Further, I release from blame and hold harmless SCLRR and its volunteers for any injury or damage caused by the animal.

Further, I promise to take care of this dog I foster while it is in my possession providing food, water, and shelter as needed at my expense. I also promise to notify the SCLRR if this dog is in need of veterinary care such as vaccinations, routine testing or treatment for illness so that SCLRR can authorize needed care. If I obtain veterinary care for the dog without SCLRR's prior approval, I understand SCLRR may refuse reimbursement. Control of external parasites (fleas and ticks) will be maintained by me.

At no time will I allow this dog to be a nuisance to people or other animals. To that end I will keep it safely confined in a fenced yard or kennel run or inside a house or garage when it is not with me or a member of my family. At no time will the dog be placed outside on a tie-out unless under the direct supervision of a responsible adult. When off of my property, the dog will be kept on a leash unless it is in a fenced area approved for free running dogs. (Note: SCLRR recommends the use of a dog crate for confinement inside the house and the use of ID tags on the dog's collar in case the dog escapes.)

I am fostering this dog with the option of adopting it. I have deposited the sum of $225/$100 (circle one) with SCLRR to the volunteer whose signature appears below. I understand this deposit will be refunded if I do not adopt this dog. If I do adopt this dog, it will be kept as the dog's adoption fee. At the time I formally adopt the dog, which will be no later than ____ weeks (maximum 4) from the date of this contract, I will fill out the Terms of Adoption for this dog and mail it to the address below. If I elect not to adopt the dog, I will either continue to foster the dog, making it available to other interested potential adoptors for evaluation, or turn it over to a representative from SCLRR. If I fail to notify SCLRR after the above indicated time, the deposit will be cashed and the dog will be mine.
