Checkers
2011-10-28:
Hi! My name is Checkers; I'm a 7 year old English style yellow male about 85lbs. I did once have a home but I guess my owners decided not to come get me at the shelter. I cannot understand why because my foster Mom thinks I'm a pretty 'cool' dog. I am always happy, house trained; I walk well on a leash, get along with my foster brother, not a barker, know some basic commands, and really like people. What more could a family want! My foster Mom does not crate me and I am fine being left alone in the house as I am not destructive at all; OK watch your socks as I do like to steal them. I am a little overweight and could lose about 15lbs. I had my Thyroid checked and it looks like I will need to take a pill to help me with my weight loss and to maintain a healthy weight. To help me with my weight loss, my foster Mom has me on diet dog food and she is taking me for daily walks. I will need a family that will be committed to my continued weight loss along with my medication, reduced calorie food and walks. No small children as I am a senior dog and would like some peace. Come check me out!
