Questions on Adoption
It is mandatory that all people wishing to adopt a Labrador Retriever through SCLRR complete an Adoption Application and have a home interview with an SCLRR volunteer where all members of the family should be present. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS OR SHORTCUTS TO THIS PROCEDURE.
Over the ten years that we have been matching families and Labrador Retrievers, we have found that the process we use is successful for both your family and the Labs. Therefore, sending us emails telling us that you're a great home for one of our dogs does not fulfill our requirements. We enjoy hearing from you, but you are still required to complete the application, send it in with your application fee, and have a successful home interview with an SCLRR volunteer before being introduced to any of our Labrador Retrievers. Do you have a shelter dog that you want rescued?
Please visit our shelter listing form for that purpose. We monitor these listings and personally visit dozens of shelters each week. We also have local shelter administration keeping us informed on dogs that need our help.
