James Dean

2010-07-20: James Dean (J.D.) is a 1 year old yellow male and he appears purebred. He came to us as a stray from a local shelter. The second we met this happy guy, we knew he was leaving with us. He's just a wonderful guy!

J.D. immediately got along with the two dogs in his foster home and he's done well with other dogs he's met. He gets a little excited meeting people and sometimes jumps, but he's getting better and has been great with kids of all ages. He loves his walks, is curious and pulls some, but corrects well. He loves the water, hose and small pool, but have not had him to the beach yet. He has not been around cats or other small animals so we are not sure about his prey drive. He is very social and loves to play, but easily calms down. He's pretty good with basic sit, stay, drop, lie down etc. and is house trained. He's smart, learned the dog door first day. He would be a wonderful addition to any family looking for a loving, giving lab. He needs his exercise and would do well with other dogs of similar activity level or as an only dog with an active family.
