2010-07-19: Mistie is a beautiful purebred 3 1/2 year old, petite yellow female Lab with AKC papers. She has a soft personality and is very submissive with humans. Mistie has been fine with all dogs she has met - both little and large - dominant or old. She lives with dogs nicely and really enjoys hikes with them. She is middle of the road on submissive/dominant personality with dogs. Mistie rides well in the car and likes to travel. She does very well on her trips to Petsmart and Lowes. She had a recent camping trip over a weekend and did fantastic - listens well, and loved playing in the river. It would be great if whoever adopts Mistie would possibly do sport/training classes with her to have her gain a bit more confidence of new things. She is very easy to walk on leash and knows her basic commands. She would do fantastic at agility, rally, etc. She is not overly energetic and settles nicely in the house on a dog bed. She is housetrained and has great house manners. She is crate trained and is not an escape artist in her yard (even behind chainlink). She is not a fence fighter and is fantastic with cats (even with 10 week old kittens like in her foster home). She is very healthy and has no obvious allergies or other issues. She can be a bit mischievous in the yard sometimes-digging a hole to get cool or maybe chewing up a kids toy that they forgot to put away. She is gentle with children - she is fostering with a baby and a five-year-old at the moment and is doing great. She does not know how to play with toys, so she is not much of a fetch dog - she likes to interact directly with people. Overall, Mistie is a very sweet, gentle soul that needs environment where she will get to visit the big world - out and about is what this little girl needs!
